Ethical In-Home Cattery

Thank you for your interest in our cattery. My name is Jasmine, and I have been dedicated to breeding for over a decade in the sunny state of Arizona. My passion for breeding is driven by a commitment to improving the Ragdoll breed. Romantic Ragdolls was established as a result of that passion. We are a small, in-home cattery that selectively breeds few, high-quality litters per year. We firmly believe in quality over quantity in our program and work towards preserving the Ragdoll standard in both type and personality.  All our cats are raised indoors inside our home, coexisting with our family and our children. We view our cats as cherished family pets above all else. 

Our Unique Approach

Our approach to breeding is rooted in long-standing ethical breeding practices. These practices include: 

• Participating in conformation shows

Conformation shows are one way breeders can demonstrate their program adheres to breed standards. Its also a tool breeders use to prove their program is aligned with their goals. 

•  Conducting comprehensive health testing 

Romantic Ragdolls uses a combination of well-researched, and advanced tools to get the most comprehensive view of the cats in our cattery. All cats in our cattery are screened for harmful pathogens and diseases using PCR testing, and FeLv/FIV viral testing. Our cats are also genetically tested through UC Davis for harmful genetic disorders that specifically affect the Ragdoll breed. These genetic tests include Ragdoll HCM and Blood Type. We also screen for an additional 45 different genetic disorders through Wisdom genetic panels. 

• Selecting breeding parents with exceptional temperaments to promote the gentle and affectionate nature that Ragdoll are most known for. 

Our Kitten Program

We strive to set ourselves apart with our exceptional kitten program. From the very start, we raise our kittens for future success. Our kitten program includes early touch & grooming desensitization, sound & smell exposure from birth, temperament assessment, litter box training, a clean, engaging  environment that nurtures their gross and fine motor skills, and a high quality diet. We also provide lifetime breeder support, spay/neuter for all our pet homes, return policy to ensure our kittens/cats never end up in a shelter system, and a 2 year health guarantee on all our kittens. 

The goal of Romantic Ragdolls is to contribute to the betterment of the Ragdoll breed, producing cats that exemplify beauty, health, and temperament.  We want to ensure each of the kittens we produce will always have a loving home and bring happiness and joy to their amazing families.
